Ethical Award
We received the Ethical Award in August 2009 and still hold the award today. It puts Myakka in the top third of companies deemed to "excel in ethical consumerism with an excellent corporate social responsibility strategy". That's the long-winded way of saying we trade ethically and responsibly with regard to people, animals and the environment.

Find us in the Good Shopping Guide
We're delighted to have earned our place in the Good Shopping Guide which is the world's leading reference book on how to shop with confidence and a clear conscience. This independent guide reports on companies and ranks them with an ethical score based on their performance and concern for the environment, animal welfare and human rights. You'll find everything in there from banks to butter, washing machines to jeans and we're proud to be listed, especially as it gives you the consumer reliable and independent reassurance that we're an ethical company you can trust.

Business Awards
In 2010, we were proud to be voted by Somerset Business Awards as the Business of the Year and won a further Service Excellence award adding local recognition to our ethical practices. In 2011, we were runners up in the Business of the Year and Marketing Awards and while we'd have loved to have stayed at No.1, it was a busy year of worthwhile distractions. In 2012, we were proud to again be finalists in the Service Excellence award – an area which we continue to focus upon as our business grows. The Somerset Business Awards are organised by Somerset Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses to celebrate business success across Somerset.
In 2014, we won the 'Best multi-channel business' award (in the Business to Consumer category for businesses with turnover under £5m) at the ECMOD Direct Commerce Awards, bringing industry recognition to the professionalism of our business practices. This is the second time we have been recognised in this category, the first time being in 2008. As we grow and the Myakka team expands, it’s important to share.
CSR: Corporate Social Responsibility
Strong ethical, environmental and social values are fundamental to our founding business principles and we feel it’s important to share them, not only within our team but also with all our customers and stakeholders. To this end we are pleased to make the most recent version of our Ethical, Environmental and Social Responsibility Policy available here for you to read should you wish. Additionally, our Annual CSR Report 2017/18 is available here which documents our actions and key milestones throughout the business year. We intend to develop these annual reports as we grow, detailing our maintained focus on our core business ethics.
